Manchester United Drop To 6th On Forbes List Of Most Valuable Teams

Manchester United have fallen four places to sixth position on the Forbes list of the most valuable sports teams in the world.

Manchester United have now slumped to sixth position, below Real Madrid (third) and Barcelona (fourth) with the Spanish giants retaining their 2018 positions.

There are five other football teams who made the Forbes list of most valuable Sports teams namely Bayern Munich (17th),  Manchester City(25th), Chelsea (32nd), Arsenal (42nd) and Liverpool (45th).

NFL side Dallas Cowboys remain the most valuable Sports team for the fourth successive year with a value of $5billion.

Legendary baseball side New York Yankees ($4.6b) came in second place on the list with NBA team New York Knicks ($4b) completing the top five just behind Real Madrid ($4.24b) and Barcelona ($4.02b).

Analyzing the list, more than half of the top 50 on the list are from the NFL while the NBA boast nine sides in the list, the most valuable of them being the New York Knicks.

The Dallas Cowboys continue to dominate the list with nine of the top 50 rated sports broadcasts in the US last year being Dallas regular season matches. They are indeed a marvel in their marketing strategies and this is what Jerry Jones told Forbes sometime last year.

“On and off the field, in season and out of season, there is a small soap opera going on every day,” Jerry Jones said.

“Everyone knows that marketing, especially in this day and time, is just another way to promote the circus, so to speak.”

In spite of their slump, Manchester United still remain the most valuable English Premier League team.
