Manchester United In Disappointing Draw With Hudderfield

Manchester United made a poor show of themselves as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Huddersfield Town, ending their hopes of a top-four finish in shambolic fashion having surrendered a 7-minute lead to the basement club.

It was disastrous, appalling and surreal to say the least for Ed Woodward who was present at the ground to watch his side take on Huddersfield who have managed only 14 points all season only to share the spoils with Jan Siewert side.

The Terriers looked more than happy with that draw considering that they were already condemned to relegation and were in some battle with Derby County for the worst club in the Premier league era.

Manchester United would have themselves to blame for failing to take chances when they were allowed some space to maraud and maneuver within the Terriers’ box in the first forty-five minutes of play.

McTominay who has been arguably United’s best player since the game against Barcelona did do himself some good however when he shot straight at Lossl with some great firepower only a service by Roger Federer could rival and the ball snuck in between the fingers of the goalie to grant the Red devils an early lead inside just seven minutes.

Pogba headed against the bar just before the break and curled the ball once again in the final minutes of the encounter only to be denied by the bar. He must be cursed by the god mother of goals.

Coming into the second half, United thought themselves to be in control of the game and opted to bring in attacking Ander Herrera for Nemanja Matic and Tahith Chong for the injured and woeful Alexis Sanchez, only to be dealt with a route one sucker punch.

Mbenza got the goal from a one-on-one position with De Gea after his keeper, Lossl had played him onside from a counter attacking position. The cheers and shouts at the stadium could not totally express the emotions that spread through the veins of those Huddersfield fans. One more point in the bag for them.

A couple of chances and Manchester United could still not make anything of it even with eight minutes added time.

Huddersfield Town 1-1 Manchester United it ended.
