Manchester United Lose Pole Position As Most Valuable Clubs In Europe Revealed
Manchester United have lost their top spot on the most valuable club in Europe listing to Real Madrid.
The latest figures have been released by KPMG based on the 2016-2017 and 2017-18 seasons.
These values are based on a number of criteria including broadcasting rights, popularity, profitability, stadium value and potential.
Real Madrid have now leapfrogged Man United into top spot, thanks to winning the Champions league in each of the two seasons.
According to the listing, the Los Blancos are now estimated a value of about £2.91bn, United on the other hand who have led the way for about three years are now valued at £2.83bn.
United’s drop on the list may not be unrelated to the failure of the English giants to reach the latter stages of the Champions League in recent years.
United are not left alone in the top 10 with five other Premier League clubs making it into the top 10.
Manchester City leads the way amongst the clubs with this year’s Champions League finalists Liverpool and Arsenal and Europa league finalists, Chelsea and Arsenal completing the list.

Man City are in fifth, behind third-placed Bayern Munich and fourth-placed Barcelona , with a value of £2.2bn.
Juventus are one of the other non-English side to make the top 10. Premier League clubs, West Ham United, Leicester City and Everton also make the overall 32-team shortlist.
Scottish Champions, Celtic have also become the first ever Scottish club to make the prestigious list.
Andrea Sartori, the author of the report said: “At league level the English Premier league has confirmed its absolute dominance, having nine clubs in the top 32 and accounting for 43% of the total aggregate value.”
