The UEFA champion’s league returns this week on tuesday 23rd October 2018 with Manchester United set to take on high flying Juventus. The focus of the game will of course be on Christiano Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford for Real madrid in 2009.
Ronaldo signed for Juventus for about £88 million in the summer of 2018 after leaving Real Madrid. And he has made instant impact in Juventus, scoring 5 goals so far this season
Ronaldo is back after serving a one-match suspension following a red card against Valencia, and Mourinho’s weak defense this season will be in charge of stopping last season’s top scorer in the Champions League.
Mourinho also welcomes a team he has managed in the pastbetween 2010 to 2013. He was sacked after a poor run of results and also falling out with some players in the team.
He will likely name an unchanged side from the clash against Chelsea on saturday. A 4-3-3 formation with Lukaku, Martial and Rashford in front. Matic, Pogba and Mata the middle three and a back four of Ashley young, Luke Shaw, Smalling and Lindelof.
Juventus will also likely play a 4-3-3 with Mandzukic, Ronaldo and Cuadrado leading the pile, Dybala, pjanic and Matuidi, the middle three and a back four of Cancelo, Bonucci, Alex Sandro and Benatia.
Marcus Rojo, Jessy Lingard and Diogo Dalot are not available due to injury
Sami Khedira is the only injury problem for Juventus and so Max Allegri will have bigger team to choose from.
Head To Head
They have both met 12 times in Uefa competitions, each winning five games and sharing two draws. Juventus seat atop the table with 6 points while Man Utd have 4 points. Valencia and Young Boys have 1 and 0 points respectively. A win for either side will see them top the table with 3 matches left to play.
