Manchester United Vs PSG UCL 12 February Preview

The UEFA Champions League (UCL) is now upon us after a long break and it is Manchester United who get the earliest kickoff. The Red devils will host Ligue 1 leaders, Paris Saint Germain who are without forwards Neymar and Edison Cavani at Old Trafford with the red devils looking to use the home advantage judiciously.

Manchester United

Off UCL action, the Red devils have remained unbeaten in 11 games under the tutelage of caretaker manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – 10 wins and a draw. Prior to this, United won only one of their last four home games in the reins of Jose Mourinho.

Although, a winning run for the United team in the UCL might kick off from the match against PSG, the fact that United gaffer has no experience of the Champions League as a manager remains a great disadvantage.

That said, the Norwegian will be faced with his toughest test yet, an experienced PSG team. The Norwegian won’t leave anything to chance having rested his first team striker in Marcus Rashford in the match against Fulham and travelling to France to watch the French club’s live gane.

Paris Saint Germain

The UCL remains the Holy Grail for the Ligue 1 leaders with the money invested in player signings and wages unable to fetch them the most coveted prize in European football.

The French club met their doom in the last two competitions via face-offs with the biggest sides in the La Liga. First was their failure to capitalize on a 4-0 advantage over Barcelona in 2017 and the losing out to eventual champions, Real Madrid in the last edition.

Thomas Tuchel will be gutted by injuries to Neymar and Edison Cavani with Thomas Meunier a doubt for the match. That said, he will be willing to get an away goal and possibly a win at Old Trafford
