Marcus Rashford In Talks With Manchester United For Possible Contract Extension

According to a report by Press Association Sport, Manchester United are in talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s favoured striker, Marcus Rashford for extension of his contract and improved terms of contract.

Rashford who wears the number 10 shirt has secured a place in Manchester United’s Starting XI over 75-million pound striker, Romelu Lukaku.

The 21-yr-old has enjoyed a good spell under caretaker manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer netting his 10th goal of the season against Leicester City.

He also netted the only goal of the match against the Spurs after running through Jan Vertonghen’s flank.

His 10th goal has made him the second youngest player to reach 100 PL appearances, second only to Welsh man, Ryan Giggs.

Marcus Rashford is also the second highest goal scorer of all time – in the Premier League – for players not older than 21 years, second only to Robbie Fowler and seem to be in the long-term plans for Manchester United who are notable for culturing academy graduates into worldclass players and vital components of a world conquering team.

In a bid to make this a reality, Manchester United are in talks with the striker and are looking to tie him before other clubs coming down

The No.10’s contract expires next year although United have the option to extend it until 2021. The red devils have just extended Anthony Martial’s contract which could see him remain at Old Trafford till 2024.

They are also said to be in talks with goalie, David de Gea for possible contract extension.

When asked about the competition between Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, Ole Gunnnar Solskjaer had this to say:

“Yeah, through healthy competition but they can also create a relationship because hopefully they will play many, many more years together

“so if they get an understanding of each other because both are very good at coming in off the left, but if one of them plays centrally then the other one has to do opposite movements….”, he said
