McTominay Back In Training And Could Possibly Face Club Brugge

Scott McTominay is now back in training with the rest of the Manchester United squad ahead of their Europa League tie with Belgian outfit, Club Brugge.

He participated in the training drills on Wednesday and might just be ready to take on Club Brugge in the last-32 of Europe’s second-tier competition.

The defensive midfielder has been on the sidelines due to injury since he suffered a knee ligament injury in United’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle United.

McTominay was involved in the open training session at United’s training complex. So also was Victor Lindelof who sat out United’s 2-0 triumph over Chelsea due to illness and Axel Tuanzebe who has not featured in any game for the Red devils since December.

January signing, Odion Ighalo also played a part in the training while teenage striker, Mason Greenwood was absent.

The Red devils lock horns with Brugge in the first leg of their Europa League two-legged tie at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Thursday, where Norwegian boss, Solskjaer could field a much-changed lineup.

United won the competition in 2017 and consequently booked a spot in the Champions League despite finishing 6th in England’s top-flight.

Solskjaer and his men may have to book a spot in the Champions League via the same route having struggled domestically for consistency.

The Red devils are currently wallowing in seventh position, however they are only three points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea following United’s win over the Blues at the Stamford Bridge.

After taking on Club Brugge in Belgium, United are poised to take on Watford on their home ground, Old Trafford on Sunday.
