Messi Admits Qatar Win Would Boost Teammates Morale

Lionel Messi who turns 32 today can now celebrate his birthday in style and glamour after seeing his side take all three points against Qatar in the 2019 Copa America competition.

The Barcelona forward has now made it clear that his country’s win over Qatar in the 2019 Copa America will boost his morale and that of his teammates at the national team.

After losing their first game in the competition and only managing a draw in the second, the Albiceleste needed a win in their final group game to give them any hopes of qualifying for the next round.

They did just that with the duo of Sergio Aguero and Lautaro Martinez taking the game by the scruff of it’s neck and giving their side a 2-0 win over Qatar.

Argentina have now progressed to the next stage of the competition, finishing second place behind Colombia in Group B to stage a quarter final draw with Venezuela.

“The important thing was to win to keep going in the Copa, to get through the group stage.

“This will be an important boost for what’s to come, another Copa begins now. This victory must give us strength and make us grow as a team.

“It’s tough playing this kind of game due to the necessity, the obligation to win the fear of missing out.

“But beyond that we played well and went through, which is what matters,” said Lionel Messi according to Goal.

Lionel Messi celebrates his 32nd birthday on the  24th of June with a truck load of laurels, individual and team trophies to his name.

Messi with 603 career goals has garnered six European golden boots, four UCL trophies, 34 trophies in total and five Balon D’Or titles with the Argentine the front runner to win the 2019 Balon D’Or award.

He is by every standard Barcelona’s best player of all time and a strong contender for the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T) tag.
