Mikel Set for China Move in a Multi-million Pound Deal

Chelsea midfield maestro, Mikel John Obi is set for a January exit from Chelsea. The destination of the Super eagles skipper is none other than China!

Chelsea have been in the form of their lives this season, going on a 10-game winning streak, but the same cannot be said for 29-year-old Nigerian midfielder – Mikel. The long-term relationship between Mikel and Chelsea will most certainly come to an end in the next few months.

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has constantly overlooked Mikel since the start of the season. Mikel who has not played a single game this season, has become frustrated at his lack of game-time, and will leave Chelsea before his contract comes to an end.

Reports emanating from China, indicates that at least two super lig sides, are bent on securing Mikel’s services in the coming month. The propsed deal will be worth at least $12 million yearly depending on who out-bids who.

Mikel’s teammate at Chelsea, Oscar Emboamba, is close to completing a £60 million move to Chinese Super lig side, Shanghai SIPG, in the coming days. Former Chelsea stars such as Demba Ba, Ramires, and Didier Drogba have all transfered to the Chinese league in the past to play football.

Having played 374 times since signing for Chelsea 10 years ago, Mikel has won 11 titles with the Blues, including one Champions League and one Europa league title as well as two Premier League titles.

Mikel has been on the radar of other European clubs including Olympic Marseille, Inter Milan and Manchester United; although a move away from Europe looks more likely.
