The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed displeasure over the reappointment of former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.
The party which described the reappointment as a “terrible mistake” said it was not in the interest of the party.
Speaking with Punch, the APC chairman in the state, Dr Ben Nwoye, said Onyeama’s reappointment was not in the interest of the Enugu APC and the country at large.
In a related development, Kwara Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, said that state occupied a special place in the heart of Buhari, saying it was an honour to have two ministerial nominees from one state.
In his congratulatory message to the two ministerial nominees, Alhaji Lai Mohamed and Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Abdulrazaq in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, expressed appreciation to the President.
In APC in Cross River State, the party described the nomination of Jeddy Agba as welcome, saying the nominee “is the right man for the job.”
The state Publicity Secretary of the party, Bassey Ita, said a nominee is a party man.
“As a party man, we urge him to look inward and nurture the party in the state. We need virile opposition that will take over the reins of power in the state.”
On the reaction to the non-return of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani, he said, “The President has said he will bring the people he knows. Maybe he does not know Usani.”
