Mixed Reactions Trail Seun Onigbinde’s Resignation

Reactions have continued to trail the resignation of Co-founder of BudgIT, Seun Onigbinde, who recently announced his appointment as Technical Adviser to the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning.

BudgIT is a Nigerian civic-tech organization that has been monitoring projects completed and abandoned by government and lawmakers who earmarked money for such projects.

Onigbinde gave in to pressures from the social media users who had condemned his appointment having said he wanted to try new experience.

While noting that his sincere interest is to see a Nigeria that grows and optimise resources for the benefits of all Nigerians which was what compelled him to accept the offer to provide technical skills.

He wished the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration well adding that he will always be of help to the federal government in his capacity as the Director of BudgIT.

“I would also work to ensure that BudgIT continues to build civic awareness on the right of every Nigerian to know how public resources are managed.”
