Nicki Minaj Pulls Out of Saudi Arabia Music Festival

Trinidadian rapper, Nicki Minaj has revealed she won’t be performing again at the Saudi Arabia Music Festival due to their violation of human rights.

The rapper set to perform on July 18 alongside other singers like Liam Payne was called by US Human Rights Foundation to pull out due to the country’s history of violating human rights.

Afterwards, Nicki said she won’t be performing because the country goes against what she stands for — women rights, LGTBQ rights and freedom of expression.

After careful reflection I have decided to no longer move forward with my scheduled concert at Jeddah World Fest. While I want nothing more than to bring my show to fans in Saudi Arabia, after better educating myself on the issues, I believe it is important for me to make clear my support for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community and freedom of expression,” She said.
