Nigeria Flying Eagles Take Qatar To The Cleaners In 4-0 Thriller
Nigeria Flying Eagles began their FIFA U-20 World Cup in flying colours with a 4-0 mauling of Qatar.
The flying Eagles scores two goals on either side of half-time to catapult themselves straight to the summit of Group D as they proved too strong for the oil-rich nation.
Goals from Maxwell Effiom, Henry Offia, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Aliu Salawudeen were enough to wrap up the match, a game that Nigeria had dominated from start to finish.
It was a convincing win from the U-20 side as they seek to win the U-20 World Cup for the very first time in history.
Nigeria who now top Group D with a goal difference of 4 and all three points will be locking horns with USA on Monday in their second match of the competition holding in Poland.
Their African counterparts, Senegal also recorded a dominant win over Tahiti with the only match goal scorer recording the all-time fastest goal of the competition after scoring one just 9.69 seconds into the game. He also added two more during regulation time to end things at 3-0.
