Nigeria Should Not Depend On Foreign Technology — Osinbajo

— Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has cautioned Nigeria not to rely on foreign technology too much, and instead make the most of our local resources.

— The VP also that the Federal Government is doing all it can to make sure that the Armed Forces of the county is too notch.

The Vice President made this known in Abuja on Saturday, at the 2019 Nigerian Air Force Research and Development Exhibition where he duly represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the event.

The Vice President emphasized the need for the country to free itself from overdependence on foreign technology, but we should rather focus on making the most of what we have.

Yemi Osinbajo advicd that as a county, we should rather seek more innovative ways to make use of the local resources at our disposal.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the Nigeria Armed Forces in combating the recent security crises the country has been facing.

Equally reiterating the efforts of the President Muhmmadu Buhari’s administration in making sure that the Armed Forces of the county is its top priority.

In his words, “The Nigerian Armed Forces have in recent times been busy doing a job of confronting our nation ’s current multi -faceted internal security challenges. In a bid to reposition the armed forces to better cope with those challenges, our administration has made the modernisation , re -equipping and continuous training of the Nigerian Armed Forces a top priority .

“There is no doubt that the resources required to realise the full potential of the armed forces are limited in view of the competing demands from other sectors .

“Nevertheless, the Federal Government will continue to do its best to sustain the current tempo of development .”
