Nigerians Knows You Votes for PDP, If Supreme Court Justice Say Otherwise, Leave It to God, Secondus Lauds Supporters

  • Lauds the electorate describing their action as commendable.
  • Urges journalists not to relent in their roles of holding politicians accountable to the people.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has said that Nigeria is in such an untidy state that only God can bail her out.

This is coming after the ruling of the Supreme Court on the appeal of the party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari, at the February 23 presidential election.

President Muhammadu Buhari was returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad who stated that members of the panel had read all the documents and exhibits filed in the case for about a fortnight, ruled that the appeal was lacking in merit.

Reacting to the judgement which dismissed their application for lack of merit, Secondus said the final judgement comes from God almighty.

The Chairman in a statement by his media aide, Ike Abonyi, urged Nigerians to remain resolute in their prayers to God.

While commending Nigerians of all divide for their commitment and support to the party and to democracy “despite inhibiting factors,”, the party chairman said  such is worthy of emulation.

“We thank you for your support for PDP, for your commitment to democracy. “Nigerians know that you voted PDP, even APC knows that you rejected them on February 23, 2019.

“International community knows you voted for PDP. If Supreme Court of seven justices says otherwise, leave it to God, the ultimate Judge.”

Secondus also commended journalists for their commitment to democracy and good governance in Nigeria. He urged them not to relent in their roles of holding politicians accountable to the people.
