Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To The Claim Of Keyamo That One Does Not Need A WAEC Certificate To Become A President Or Governor In Nigeria

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the statement of the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Festus Keyamo who said that one does not need a WAEC certificate to become President or governor in Nigeria.

Keyamo had earlier mentioned on Monday via his official Twitter handle that according to the Nigerian constitution, one does not need a WAEC certificate to become President or governor in the country.

According to the tweets of Keyamo, as long as one has previously occupied a public position for a period of time, one does not need a WAEC certificate to become the governor or president of Nigeria.

Reacting to these claims, Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the IPOB, he responded via Twitter on Monday, described the Nigeria law as a joke.

Prior to the 2019 Presidential Election, Nnamdi Kanu himself had claimed that Atiku Abubakar was born a Cameroonian and not a Nigerian.

In the tweets, he said: “It is worrying when supposed senior judges and lawyers, including Senior Advocates, don’t know their School Certificate from their First School Leaving Certificate.

“Law in Nigeria is a joke! No School Certificate (WAEC) no presidency, Period!”

Nnamdi Kanu is still expected to return to Nigeria so as to defend himself in court. According to her brother Emmanuel Kanu, Nnamdi would only return to the country when the government can guarantee his safety through the period.
