Nollywood Director Dies On Set
— Nollywood director died, reportedly while on a movie set
— Ifeanyi Onyeabor was in Jos on Good Friday when he fell from a moving bus.
Popular Nollywood director and actor, Ifeanyi Onyeabor is dead. This happened yesterday, Friday while he was in Jos, Plateau State on a movie set.
Eyewitness said he was performing a stunt from the top of a car when he fell. He fell on his head and this incident took his life immediately as he was taken straight to a mortuary.
According to reports, the car wasn’t supposed to move. Thus, the movement caused the director to lose control and fall.
His media house, SIC Entertainment Production Nigeria Limited (a company he ran alongside his partner) confirmed his death in a statement on Friday.
Meanwhile, he was described as “an over achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.’’
’’When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – making movies.
’’Onyeabor was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.
’’He will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your movie will keep your memory alive.
’’We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our brother, director. We are so grateful for everyone who loved Onyeabor’s movie’s and have precious memories of his movies. May his gentle soul rest in peace.’’ The company said in a statement announcing his departure.
