Omokri reacts to Ezekwesili’s statement on low cost compromising quality of tertiary education

– Reno Omokri has reacted to Oby Ezekwesili’s statement on low cost comprising quality of Education in the country

– Omokri in his statement stated that Education doesn’t have to be expensive to be qualitative

A Former Min. for Education and 2019 Presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili in a statement on Thursday while speaking on the level of Education stated that the reason behind the low quality of tertiary education in the country is a result of the low cost of Education.

However, former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri in a recent statement has responded to Oby Ezekwesili’s statement, he disclosed that education doesn’t have to be expensive to be qualitative.

He disclosed that Oby Ezekwesili went to University in Nigeria at a time when the fees was lower than what it is today, he questioned on whether it was low quality education she received then.

Reno Omokri stated that Government funding has more to do with quality education than fees.

He stated that Private tertiary institutions are expensive but public universities rate higher in World University Ranking despite the low school fees.

Reno Omokri in his statement on Twitter said, “Eduction does not have to be EXPENSIVE to be QUALITATIVE.

Oby Ezekwesili went to university in Nigeria when fees were even lower than today. By her own logic, should we assume she lacks quality education? Government funding has more to do with quality education than fees

It is easy to prove Oby Ezekwesili
theory about low fees resulting in low quality education wrong. Private universities cost an arm and a leg. But in the latest World University ranking, public varsities, like uni of Ilorin and Ibadan uni, rate higher, even with their low school fees.”
