Nigerians, especially Lagosians on twitter have taken to the platform to call for Otoge Lagos – end to an alleged godfather-ism in Lagos State.
The OtogeLagos hash tag, #OtogeLagos which is currently trending on Nigeria twitter is a twitter movement for and against an alleged godfatherism by Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos State.
Some residents of Lagos State believe that since the era of Raji Fashola as the executive governor of Lagos State, Lagos has been under the control of the APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu.
According to supporters of Tinubu’s godfather-ism theory, every governor that has ruled Lagos after Bola Tinubu in 1999 were Tinubu’s puppets with Bola Tinubu being their remote control.
#OtogeLagos is trending on twitter following the Otoge (Enough is Enough) Movement in Kwara State which saw the Senate President, Abubakar Saraki Saraki lose re-election to retain his seat in the senate.
See some reactions of Nigerians to #OtogeLagos:
With the way thugs operated freely in last Saturday election while securities personnels that were given #SnatchAndDie mandate looked away… With bullion vans available to deliver “sensitive materials” 24/7… With another 4yrs in hand, I doubt if it’s time for #OtogeLagos pic.twitter.com/QVhlj3LIYh

This is the next Fashola. The very intelligent Sanwolu. The visionary leadership of successive governors in Lagos has made Eko the best in infrastructure. Please kindly take your #OtogeLagos to Abia,Enugu where those governors have failed.PDP has become a tribe instead of a party. pic.twitter.com/xB7Is4X140

Every tribe deserve a political icon, one who would stand for his race & generation. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is one of the few elites who stand firmly to protect the heritage of the Yoruba land. however, the game of politics in Nigeria depends on the fastest.

The new consciousness for a paradigm shift in Nigerian politics is exhilarating. Nothing is more powerful than a people's resolve to repel prolonged oppression and hopeless stronghold by a political mogul. From #OtogeLagos, we can say enough is enough across the country.

The funniest replies I have seen on my tweet about Tinubu and his godfatherism in Lagos are from some individuals who think that because I am Igbo I should not comment on Lagos affairs. You guys are a bunch of ignoramus, why won't I have a say in a place i pay tax?#OTOGELagos

#OtogeLagos I am tired of APC holding on Lagos for so long under one man called Tinubu we must break that shackle by allowing another leader to take charge so that he can expose Tinubu .Lagos have been held captive . Lagos is s not the Lagos I know .
