Rebel Salute 2019 – Patoranking To Perform In Jamaica

Patoranking has said he will be performing tonight, the 19th of February with his band, Fire Republik at the Rebel Salute in Jamaica. He made this known via his twitter handle @patorankingfire.

The music artiste was just coming off the back of a meeting with Buju and Banton when he made the announcement.

The music artiste revealed that he, Buju and Banton spoke generally about life, music and Africa.

Should we be expecting a hit single with Buju anytime soon?

By and large, this is not the first time the dance hall artiste will be performing in Jamaica. Two years ago, the Nigerian artiste performed at the 25th edition of the Reggae Sumfest which held at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Center, Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The organizers revealed that Patoranking was the first African stage to perform at the Sumfest.

The superstar couldn’t hide his joy as he took to Instagram to express his happiness at the achievement.

He said his kids will one day be taught that their father was the first African artiste to perform at the biggest reggae festival in the world.

Other performing artistes at the event include: Tony Lanez, Christopher Martin, Jah Cure, Stephen Marley, Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Mavado, Sean Paul, Alkaline, Beenie Man and Sean Kingston.

The singer whose real names are Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie performed his reggae-themed ‘Alubarika’ song and dance-hall flavoured ‘My woman, my everything’ in electrifying fashion.

On his hit ‘My woman, my everything’ he had this to say:

With my woman, my everything, I strongly believe that there is someone…a taximan, a bus driver  and conductor who needs the words to express himself to the woman in his life, and this is the perfect track

He went on to appreciate Wande Coal who collaborated with him on the track. He said it was something significant for Jamaicans to know and love his songs.

Patoranking burst onto the Nigerian music scene in 2015 when he released his hit single ‘Alubarika’.

The singer is a judge on The Voice Nigeria, a singing talent show.
