Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan served as best man at Arsenal footballer, Mesut Ozil’s wedding which held on Friday.
The German footballer with Turkish roots sparked controversy in Germany when he took pictures with president Tayyip Erdogan before the world cup. Mesut Ozil later quitted international football over “disrespect and racism” he experienced over the pictures.
“I am German when we win, an immigrant when we lose” He said after his experience.
Yesterday, the footballer married his partner, Amine Gulse in Istanbul and Turkish President was the best man.
He arrived with his wife, Emine at the ceremony and was present until the marriage was formalized.
However, Mesut Ozil’s decision to make the Turkish President his best man also sparked reaction especially in his home country.
Also, it was reported that Ozil celebrated his marriage by paying for surgeries of 1,000 kids in need.

Mesut Ozil fed 16,000 needy people around the world including needy people in Turkey and those affected by the war in Syria. Such a good person he is. May Allah bless both of them in both the worlds.
