Points From Pres. Buhari and VP Osinbajo at ‘The Candidates’ Program

– Pres. Mohammadu Buhari and VP Yemi Osinbajo were present live on ‘The Candidates’ live program

– The President and VP raise some key points in their discussion which bordered on the Local Government, Cattle Grazing amongst others

President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo were present live at the first airing of TV program ‘The Candidates’ at Sheraton Hotels last night.

The program which was anchored by Kadaria Ahmed saw the Pres. and VP give responses to some crucial matters in the country.

Below are some of the key points made by Pres. Buhari and VP Yemi Osinbajo,

On Unlawful Persecution

President Buhari said his administration, cannot prosecute people without following due process unlike his military days. 

On Local Government Allocation Distribution

President Buhari said, ”The Local government should come together to speak louder if their allocations are not given to them by thier respective states

“It was uncovered that some LG chairmen are to sign for the money for allocation from FG which 25% will be given to them and the rest will be kept by those Governors, I now want the press to investigate this and expose the corrupt governor”

On Herdsmen and Farmers Conflict

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said, The reason why we are having this Farmers and Herdsmen conflict is because of desertification/water.

The VP added that Creating ranches will be the long term solution to the farmer-herders conflict but the ranches have to be privately owned. 

On what happens to money recovered from Corruption

President Buhari said, The extreme deficit in Infrastructure like the road, rail will be funded from the money after NASS approved the budget.

The VP added that When there is a final forfeiture of seized money or properties, it becomes FG money/ properties.
