Pres. Buhari joins World Leaders to Congratulate Indian PM Modi

– Pres. Muhammadu Buhari has joined World Leaders to congratulate Indian Prime Minister, Modi for his victory in the country’s recent election

– Buhari stated that he hopes the good cooperation that exist between Nigeria and India will continue

Following the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the country’s recent election, he has been receiving congratulatory messages from world leaders.

Nigerian Pres., Muhammadu Buhari has also joined the list of World Leaders to congratulate PM Modi for his victory at the poll.

Pres. Buhari in his statement appreciated the mutually beneficial relationship between Nigeria and India, he stressed that he looks forward to expanding existing cooperation on areas like energy, infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing and health.

Buhari also disclosed that Prime Minister Modi made Nigeria proudly recognised India as a strategic development partner in Africa after the country hosted the successful India-Africa Forum in October 2015.

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT BUHARI CONGRATULATES INDIA’S MODI ON ELECTION VICTORY

President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on their election victory.

As Nigeria’s largest trade partner, President Buhari appreciates the mutually beneficial Nigeria-India relationship and looks forward to expanding existing cooperation on energy, infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing and health.

The President recalls that under Prime Minister Modi, India hosted the successful India-Africa Forum in October 2015 and Nigeria proudly recognizes India as a strategic development partner on the continent.

The Nigerian leader wishes the Indian Prime Minister a successful new term in office that ushers in more prosperity, progress and stability to the people of the world’s largest democracy.

Apart from Muhammadu Buhari, the United States Pres., Donald Trump has also congratulated PM Modi for his victory in the polls.
