Pres. Buhari sworn in for Second Term

– Pres. Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn in for his second term as the President of Nigeria

– The oath-taking was administered by the acting CJN, Justice Tanko Mohammed

A new report has confirmed that Pres. Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn in for his second term as the President of Nigeria at the Eagles Square in Abuja today.

The report made it known that the oath-taking was administered by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Tanko.

Pres. Muhammadu Buhari took the oath of office at around 10:42 am.

The oath taking was done based on the Constitution of the country, with the President swearing that as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria he would continue to discharge his duties to the best of his ability, faithfully and in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the law, and always in the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Pres. Buhari also swore that he would continue to preserve the Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that he would not allow his personal interest to influence his official conduct or official decisions.

Present at the event was the first lady, Aisha Buhari, Vice Pres. Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, National Leader of the All Progressive Congress APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a host of prominent dignitaries.

The report made it known that VP Osinbajo had taken his oath of office prior to the president.

With the swearing-in already done today, the major events of the inauguration will be done on the 12th of June which is now to be recognized as the new Democracy Day.
