Presidential Inauguration: FG assures of tight security

– The Federal Government has assured Nigerians and Foreigners of tight security during the Presidential Inauguration

– Min. for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed also disclosed that members of the opposition who want to be invited would be invited

According to the latest report, the Minister for Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed in a recent statement has assured of watertight security during the Presidential inauguration that will usher Pres. Muhammadu Buhari into his second term in office.

Lai Mohammed gave this assurance yesterday during a press conference in Abuja, he assured Nigerians and foreigners of their security during the inauguration.

When he was questioned on whether Alh. Atiku Abubakar and the elder statesmen in the PDP would be invited, the Min. for Information disclosed that members of the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, who wants to come and witness the occasion would be invited as well.

He said, “I want to assure you that all those who want to be invited will be invited.”

Lai Mohammed in his statement on the protection of visitors, he said, “We have no reason to doubt the alarm that have been raised the security agencies. But as I said, there’s absolutely no cause for alarm.

“On the question about the safety of world leader, I assure you, Nigeria is safe. Their security and that of every Nigerian is guaranteed.

“Even if we are taking [security measures], will I tell you here.”

The Presidential Inauguration is expected to take place on a low key on May 29th while the major event will take place on the 12th of June, which is the new date set aside for the celebration of Democracy in Nigeria, the date was moved by the present administration of Pres. Muhammad Buhari.
