Everton’s Idrissa Gueye has penned a four year deal with Paris Saint Germain becoming their sixth major addition of the summer transfer window.
PSG have competed the signing of the 29 year old Senegal International with the transfer fee put at about £28 million.
The midfielder has inked a four year deal that will see him play at the Parc des Princes through to 2023 becoming the eighth Senegalese player to ply his trade at the Parc des Princes.
Gueye spent four years in the English Premier League where he was consistently ranked in the top five defensive midfielders in the league.
Gueye started his professional career in Europe with Ligue 1 side, Lille where he made 176 appearances before making a switch to Aston Villa and then to Everton spending a year at Villa and three years at the Goodison park.
His move to the French Capital will fetch him a shot at the Champions League and the Senegalese insist he’s excited to be a part of the project at PSG.
“I’m immensely proud to sign for Paris Saint-Germain,” he told the Parisian club’s official website.
“After focusing on the AFCON with Senegal, I wanted to give a new boost to my club career by joining Paris Saint-Germain, one of the most structured and ambitious sports projects in Europe.
“I’d like to thank the directors, the coach and his staff for the confidence they have shown in me. I will do everything to justify the faith they have shown in me and to integrate into this talented squad.
“And of course I can’t wait to take in the amazing atmosphere of the Parc des Princes, which impressed me during my first seasons in France!”

PSG have been in the market in the last one year for a defensive midfielder to replace the retired Thiago Motta and have seen Gueye as a perfect fit.
Although, they got Ander Herrera on a Bosman deal from Manchester United, the departure of Adrien Rabiot to Juventus means they were shot in the midfield and needed a replacement as soon as possible.
