Real Madrid Sign Eden Hazard For Fee That Could Total Over £150m

Real Madrid have agreed to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea for a fee totalling over £150m.

The Belgian has agreed to a 5 year deal that will see him remain at the Santiago Bernabeu till 2024 and will be presented as a Madrid player on 13 June subject to medicals.

The Chelsea attacker has bagged a total of 110 goals in 352 games since he arrived at the Stamford Bridge from Lille in 2012.

Hazard admitted that leaving Chelsea was one of the hardest decisions he has had to take in his career.

He reaffirmed his love for the London Blues saying that at no point in time did he consider leaving West London during his time there.

“Now it’s in the open I would like to put on record one thing was always clear to me, I have loved every moment at Chelsea and not once did I ever consider, nor would I have left for any other club.”

Maria Granovskaia, Chelsea director thanked Hazard on behalf of the club maintaining that he midfielder’s memories will long linger in the hearts of the fans for the entertainment and match-winning contributions he provided them with.

“The memories he leaves us with will not fade.

“He provided all who watched Chelsea play with great entertainment and many match-winning contributions, and for that we thank Eden enormously.”

Hazard whose contract is to expire next summer won the Europa League amd Premier league twice, FA Cup and league cup during seven seasons at Stamford Bridge winning the Chelsea’s Player of the Year on four occasions.

Chelsea have been placed on a transfer ban till the summer of 2020 and might not be able to replace Eden Hazard. Meanwhile, the London club have signed another creative player in the shape of Christian Pulisic and will be looking to build the club around the former Dortmund man and English starlet, Hudson-Odoi.
