Robyn Rihanna Fenty has been named the world’s richest female musician by Forbes.
The musician who is also a fashion icon and entrepreneur made a reported sale of $100 million from her brand, Fenty Beauty, in its first week.
Although the majority of wealth is associated with her partnership with LVMH, a French luxury fashion house where she own a Lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, her total net worth is $600 million.
Riri topped 5 others female musician icons including Madonna ($570m), Céline Dion ($450m), Beyoncé and Barbra Streisand tying in fourth ($400m) and Taylor Swift ($360m).
Speaking with New York times some years ago, Rihanna explained that she’s driven by her work and what she can do for people.
“The money means that I can take care of my family. The money means that I can facilitate the businesses that I want to. I can create jobs for other people. My money is not for me; it’s always the thought that I can help someone else or, in the future, for if I have kids.” She said.
Rihanna founded an organization, the Clara Lionel Foundation, which supports health and education in impoverished communities around the world. In 2017, the fashion icon and musician was named humanitarian of the year by Harvard University.
