Ronaldo Hotel Refutes Claims That It Has Been Converted Into A Hospital For COVID-19 Treatment

Pestana Cr7 hotel, a hotel owned by Cristiano Ronaldo has refuted reports that it has been converted into a Coronavirus infirmary. According to several reports growing rife on social media, it has been suggested that a hotel belonging to the Juventus forward was converted into a hospital to treat all Coronavirus patients in the player’s home country. The reports also stated that Ronaldo was due to pay all medical personnel and staff at this facility from his own wallet.

The Lisbon-based hotel has however thrown out those suggestions and have stated that they haven’t been converted into a hospital.

The pandemic which has rocked many nations across the globe is in its early stages in Portugal where persons who have tested positive to the virus have jumped from 76 to about 245 in the last day.

Staff at the hotel according to Goal insists that they know nothing about such plans to convert the hotel into a temporary hospital for the treatment of COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are a hotel. We are not going to be a hospital. It is a day like everyone else, we are and will remain a hotel. We are being phoned by the press. I wish you a nice day,” a spokesperson for the institution told Dutch outlet RTL Nieuws.

Ronaldo is yet to pass any comments on the use of his hotel as a hospital but is back in Portugal having left Italy which has been completely ravaged by the virus.

Juventus defender, Rugani, was one of the first high-profile names to test positive to the virus. In the midst of all the chaos, Ronaldo, 35 sent a calming message to his fans.

“The world is going through a very difficult moment which demands the utmost care and attention from all of us,” the Portugal International wrote in a post on social media.
