Samuel Ortom And David Mark Storm INEC Office To Protest Against The Alleged Hijack Of Result Sheets By Unidentified Soldiers

Samuel Ortom, known to be the Governor of Benue state, and David Mark, a former Senate president, has reportedly stormed the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Makurdi, Benue capital, yesterday, February 24, to protest the alleged snatching of election results by soldiers yet to be identified.

According to various reports, both Samuel Ortom, Benue state Governor and David Mark, former Senate President headed straight into the office of one Nentawe Yiltwada, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC)’s, when they got into the head office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Makurdi yesterday.

The snatching of the election results by the unidentified soldiers displeased both Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state and as well David Mark, a former Senate President and that is why both of them have taken a bold step to storm the office of the National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Makurdi, Benue capital, to protest for that singular act by the unidentified soldiers.

Meanwhile, the ex-Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, and also the current Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has taken an early lead in the Saturday’s presidential poll results in 7 of 11 local government areas of Benue state as already announced by the collation officers in the state.

iDONSABI reports that on Monday, February 25th, in Makurdi, the results, which are still being collated across Benue state, revealed that Atiku Abubakar is leading in Gwer West, Buruku, Logo, Agatu, Apa, Ado, and Obi LGAs.

In addition, the latest results in Benue state shows that President Muhammadu Buhari is losing in 4 local government so far. We still await official confirmation from INEC on who wins Benue state.
