Sane Set To Return To Manchester City Training Next Week

Manchester City gaffer, Pep Guardiola has talked up the prospect of German winger, Sane returning to training next week.

The Germany international is said to be nearing the end of a rehabilitation programme he’s been on following a serious injury he had sustained.

Sane is expected to be return to full training next week, after missing the first part of the 2019/20 campaign following a knee ligament injury damage he sustained.

The 24-year-old was taken off the pitch only ten minutes into Manchester City’s Community Shield clash with Liverpool, with club doctors revealing he had sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

As a result, the winger was ruled out of featuring for the Citizens in the first half of the season in a huge blow to the folks at the Etihad stadium.

The German was instrumental to Manchester City successfully defending the Premier League trophy, contributing 10 goals and 10 assists apiece.

Manchester City have now been able to exercise their league dominance since the injury to Sane, falling 14 points shy off League leaders, Liverpool who look set to win the Premier League title for the first time in 30 years.

The Citizens are still however, in contention for three other titles, including the Champions League which seems to be Guardiola’s greatest interest at the moment.

When asked if there were any positives on Sane’s injury update, the Spanish boss said:

“Definitely. Leroy is still not training with us but everything going really really well and he should be training with us in another week.”

The Premier League champions still have seven fixtures to play before they go head-to-head with Real Madrid in their last-16 tie of Europe’s elite competition.

That run of seven games would start off with a clash with Crystal Palace at the Etihad. City will be looking to extend their winning run to six games.
