Schweinsteiger Tips Mourinho for Bayern Munich Job
Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger has backed Jose Mourinho to take over the coaching role at Allianz Arena.
The midfielder who has gained legendary status for Bayern suggested that the Portugese gaffer would be the ideal man to succeed the departed Niko Kovac.
He thinks his former manager whilst he was at Manchester United should inherit the managerial reins at the club.
Niko Kovac was sacked following a 5-1 demolition by Eintracht Frankfurt and his assistant manager is poised to take over the set of games before the International break.
With that defeat, they are now five points adrift of league leaders, Borussia Monchengladbach.
Although, Kovac led the Bavarians to a domestic double in his first season at the helm, his side have been unable to replicate such form and have recorded a dip in their performances and ensuing results.

A number of high-profile managers have been linked to the job including Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino and Allegri.
However, Schweinsteiger who played under Mourinho in 2016-17 at Manchester United suggests that Mourinho would be a round peg in a round hole.
Interestingly, the retired German midfielder revealed that the 56-year-old manager always spoke fondly of Bayern during his time at United and was even learning German in his downtime.
When asked to discuss the potential of Mourinho at the Allianz arena, Schweinsteiger told Bild:
“I can imagine Mourinho in Germany,”
“I remember he was always asking me about Bayern and the Bundesliga. During our away games, there was always Bundesliga on TV.
“He really knew every single player, even from the smaller teams. He was also learning German.
“He has not worked in the Bundesliga, so I can well imagine that he would be tempted by a commitment in Germany.”
Mourinho won two major trophies during his spell at Manchester United, including the Europa League, but was unable to replicate his successes at his former sides – FC Porto, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
