Delta Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has said the inauguration of the Delta State Community Policing Advisory Committee, is another step in partnership with the relevant security agencies.
He stated this during yesterday’s inauguration of the committee in Asaba.
While noting that community policing involves the people, government, and Police, he pointed out that all must prioritize diplomacy.
“Moving forward, we must remember that the three major partners in the community policing process are the people, the police, and the government. Hence, with this new endeavour, we must prioritize diplomacy and carefully weigh all the consequences of all our actions.
“This is why, today’s inauguration of the Delta State Community Policing Advisory Committee, is another step — in partnership with the relevant security agencies — to guarantee the peace and safety of individuals, communities and public property in the State.”
He also pointed out that the last six weeks have been challenging for the state and the country as whole with the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
