Watch Clip Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Houses Allegedly Burnt By Police in Anambra

Former Aviation Minister has uploaded a video clip of houses belonging to the lawyer of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB), Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor in Anambra state which was allegedly burnt down by the Nigerian Police personnel.

According to Fani-Kayode who revealed the attack at the house yesterday that reportedly left four people dead, he said he was in the house on Sunday to commiserate with the lawyer over the loss of his elder brother.

He also revealed that the IPoB) retaliated by killing two officers during the attack. Read his post and watch the clip below.

This is the country home of Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor in Ifite, Anambra. He is my friend, brother and lawyer and he is IPOB’s and Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer too.

I was in this house on Sunday afternoon after attending the Thanksgiving Service for his brother’s burial which took place last Thursday. We had lunch in the house after which he took me on a tour of his new house which he had just finished building, which he was about to move into and which was located right next to this old one.

On monday morning a joint force of the military and the police stormed both this house and the new one, killed 4 people and burnt them both to the ground.

In what can only be described as vicious, unorovoked and scortched earth policy they also burnt down ALL the surrounding houses in the community and all the shops and commercial buildings, including the home of his late brother who was buried on thursday and who was an Anglican priest.

Sadly things degenerated as IPOB youths responded to the attack and killed two mobile policemen and burnt them alive in their Hillux security vehicle.

This is equally regrettable just as was the murder of the 4 IPOB youths that had been killed in the raid by the police earlier in the day.

Whichever way you look at it one thing is clear: the behaviour of the police and the joint force was brutal, disproportionate, provocative, heartless and barbaric and I wholeheartedly condemn it.

This is all the more so because they attacked a community that was stil in mourning and that had just buried Ifeanyi’s brother who was one of their leading and most respected members.

The widow and 6 young children of the deceased priest, who I was with on sunday, were also brutalised and traumatised in the attack by the police and military. This is wrong. It is evil. It is wicked. It is heartless. It is cruel.

Once again I call for peace and restraint in this matter but I also call on the Anambra state Government and the Federal Government to bring those that committed this atrocity and those who ordered it to justice. I renounce violence in any shape or form and I utterly deplore and condemn it’s use by anyone.

I will however say this because it needs to be clearly understood: when the state, through its security agencies, attack and kill innocent people and burn down their homes and community for no just cause it does not serve the interest of or engender peace, national cohesion, reconciliation, dialogue or unity but rather it sets us on the ugly and ungodly road of violence and conflict. This is sad and unfortunate but it is the bitter truth.

I pray that my friend and brother, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who I have not seen or spoken to since yesterday morning when he called me to brief me about the attack on his home and community, is safe, sound, hale and hearty. I pray that he has not been secretly apprehended and killed. I pray that his mother and other family members that were in the house during the attack are safe too.

I offer my condolences to the families of all those that were killed, including the two policemen, and I hope and pray that we do not see this kind if thing again.

May God deliver our people from the savagery and barbarity of tyranny, injustice and may He save us from evil, cruel and bloodthirsty men.
