Sen. Shehu Sanni tells Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu to leave Indian Hemp alone for now

– This comes after the Ondo state Governor disclosed the plan to venture into the cultivation of marijuana in the state

Outgoing Senator, Shehu Sanni in a latest statement has called out the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu over the latter’s plan to venture into the cultivation of marijuana in the South West state.

According to earlier report this week, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu and the NDLEA boss had travelled to Thailand to learn how to grow marijuana.

The Ondo state governor in a statement made it known that the state is a hot bet for marijuana and that it will be bad if the state didn’t take advantage of it now.

However, Sen. Shehu Sanni in his statement called on Gov. Akeredolu to drop the plan for now.

He urged the Governor to learn from Lagos state government that partnered with Kebbi state to grow rice, he advised Akeredolu to do the same and venture into agriculture instead of marijuana.

Shehu Sanni said, “My Brother Akeredolu, Lagos Partnered with Kebbi for Rice, please partner with Niger for Beans, Kaduna for Ginger or partner with Benue for Yam; Please leave this Indian Hemp matter for now, Abeg.”

He also went ahead to called on the ADC 2019 Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowere, who had similar plans to venture into cultivation of marijuana if given the chance to rule Nigeria, for a debate on the issue.

Sen. Shehu Sanni said, “My Friend Omoyele Sowore, my Hair doesn’t need that marijuana to glow, I wish you, Governor Akeredolu and Majek all the best; if you succeed, then you are right. When we meet we shall debate it.
