#SexforGrade: ‘This is Someone’s Spiritual Father’, Twitter Users React to BBC Documentary

  • Lecturers were filmed assaulting and making sexual advances towards students.

The recent release of the sexual abuse of students by lecturers by BBC Africa has elicited many reactions from the users of social media.

The BBC has been lauded for unravelling some hidden secrets of some lecturers who had committed the act but denied doing so.

While some explained the trauma they went through after being abused, the men also alleged of being intimidated by lecturers for being with the girls they wanted to sleep with.

iDONSABI reports that the documentary recorded the conversation (video and audio) the lecturers had with the undercover journalists who acted as students to get the fact.

The lecturers caught in the act are a former subdean in the Faculty of Art in UNILAG, who is also ahead pastor of the local Foursquare Gospel Church, Dr Boniface Igheneghu and a lecturer from the University of Ghana, Dr Paul Kwame Butakor.

The subject has now been a trending topic on Twitter with some of the users stating their experiences. Some of the users are calling on the media to go to other universities and get more fact.
