Simi Calls On Nigerians To Wake Up And Fight For A Better Nigeria
Sensational Nigerian singer and love bird, Simi has taken to social media platform, Twitter to express her concerns over the situation and state of the country which she believes is in a deplorable state at the moment.
Nigeria as a country have has its own fair share of crises in the last few years with the country hovering in and out of recession. The country has been plagues by violence, terrorism, corruption on the paths of poiliticians and the governed, robbery, kidnapping and what have you.
Nigeria has also failed to align itself with best practices around the world and Simi is having none of it.
She wrote: “Nigeria is a fucking scary place to be. The worst part is a lot of crazy stuff happens because they KNOW there will be no consequences. It’s not rocket science. But how do we get from where we are to where we need to be?? It’s not just the government, it’s us too.”

She went on to say that people have lost confidence in Government systems.
We’re just getting by. No confidence in this broken system. So we hope that today is good for us and that we see tomorrow. Rinse and repeat. Surviving, instead of actually living.

Simi who seemed like she had had enough dished it hot to politicians and leaders who she felt used their positions only to serve themselves and families rather than the citizens they preside over.
And then we have people fighting for leadership positions only to serve themselves. Not us. They really couldn’t give less of a fuck about us. STILL we turn on each other to serve them. So absolutely, ridiculously stupid! We’re supposed to be on the same side.

She stressed that these politicians do not care about the common man and that the common man still turn on each other even after being cheated rather than speak with one voice.

The singer who is married to Afro sensation, Adekunle Gold, made it a point to inform her followers that the country could only move forward if its occupants stuck together to fight the evils together with the whims and caprices of corrupt leaders who seek to lay waste to the future of the country.
Standing on this note, she stressed that no one would go out and fight these evils if every other person was unwilling.
But it’s not enough for only a few people to think this way. Because why on earth should I fight if I know you won’t have my back. Why on earth would you fight if you think I won’t fight with you? So you see – the problem is us.
