Solskjaer Drops Strong Hint He Would Be Given Manchester United Job On Permanent Basis

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given a strong hint that the could be appointed Manchester United manager on a permanent basis come next season.

The Norwegian gaffer has overseen a huge turnaround in the red half of Manchester since the sack of Jose Mourinho. He has since stirred the team to 14 wins from 19 games, one of which was the Red devils remarkable come-back win against Paris Saint Germain having lost by a 2-0 scoreline in the reverse fixture.

That said, Manchester United lost their last two matches against Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers with the latter ultimately leading to Manchester United’s crash out of the FA Cup competition leading to speculations that the Red devils would continue their bid to sign Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino on permanent basis.

However, Solskjaer has now hinted that he is in pole position to land the job regardless of both losses recorded by the team against Unai Emery and Nuno Espirito Santos sides.

He said:

“As a manager when I know the contract is finished in the summer, I haven’t spent as much time at the academy as I had come to do.

“But it is clear that I am now working as if I will stay. I think of the club five and 10 years ahead of time now as well.

“I have always thought that I’m going to have to do the best job interview I can. It’s not up to me to consider if I live up to the standard, but I feel much more at home in this building here, at Old Trafford, with these players, than I’ve ever done.”

Manchester United will be looking to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Watford on home turf at the end of March.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a vital part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side who recorded a treble in 1999.
