Son Trusts His Teammates To Cope Without Him In Champions League Tie With Ajax

Son Heung-Min might not be exactly pleased with the fact that he will be missing the Champions first leg encounter with Ajax but is optimistic and quite sure to say the least that his teammates will get the job done.

The South Korean who scored three goals for Tottenham over their two legged UCL tie with Manchester City will miss their first leg encounter to be played on Spurs new turf through suspension.

Son will be serving a one-match ban after picking up a second yellow card of the competition in the second leg over fellow English side, Manchester City.

This could well turn out to a crucial blow for Tottenham who would also be without the services of their talisman and striker, Harry Kane who picked up an injury some two matches back.

That said, Spurs will be looking at the positives of playing the first leg on their home turf. The Lilywhites have won four of all four games played at their new stadium conceding none in the process.

“I try to be positive but missing this semifinal makes me so sad, so disappointed,” he pointed out.

He insists that he trust his teammates and the new stadium and would therefore exercise no worries or anxiety ahead of the game.

He maintains that his side’s Saturday encounter with fellow London rivals, West Ham United remains top priority for him at the moment and that he is willing to fetch for his team all three points.
He added:

“I want to play every single game. I’m the guy who enjoys my football, with joy and of course I want to play the semi-final.

It’s the first for this team and myself as well”

Missing the game next week might be a blessing in disguise for the South Korean who has featured in almost every game since his return from the Asian Cup where he represented South Korea (50) for both club and country.

Son instead insists that he is feeling fine and fresh.
