Spain vs England – October 2018 England defeats Spain in nervy encounter

It was an evening of good football as England defeated spain 3-2 in an highly entertaining football match in Seville, Spain.

The goal rush started with Rashford as he blitzes an exquisite diagonal ball to play Raheem Sterling behind the defence, and the Manchester City winger shows good composure to pick out the top corner quite emphatically from about 20 yards.

Spain’s suspect defense was found wanting again as Harry Kane sends a through ball for Rashford who does well to control with his first and even better to bury a goal into the bottom right corner with his second.

At this point the spanish team rallied to find quick reply with several balls and asensio coming close to getting a goal. All this fell to nothing as England added a third as Barkley sends a nice pass over the top to pick out the run of Kane, who unselfishy squares for Sterling with his first touch, and the former Liverpool man simply couldn’t miss from five yards for his second goal of the match.

Alcacer and Ramos scored a header apiece to give Spain some consolation but England held on to win the match 3-2. As things stand, Spain still topsthe groupwith 6 points and England with 4 points with Croatia the team to be relegated from League A group 4.

The UEFA Nations league has been full of surprises as Germany were defeated by Holland 3-0 with many of Germany’s players fingered by critics as being too ‘unserious’ with the game. In another match, Italy played a 0-0 draw with Poland in a relatively cagey encounter.
