Sterling On Rampage Against Atalanta With 11-minute Hattrick

Raheem Sterling single-handedly dismantled Atalanta with a stunning 11-minute hattrick. The winger single-handedly led Manchester City’s 5-1 onslaught of their opponents.

The English man netted a hattrick, assisted the first goal and was fouled for the penalty Aguero beautifully converted.

However it was their Russian opponent that got the first goal of the game having converted an early penalty.

Then the Citizens responded with a double from Aguero with both goals inspired by Sterling.

The Englishman had provided the assists for both goals, including having won the penalty for Aguero’s second.

However, the winger wasn’t ready to slow down on the gas.

After the interval, Sterling went on an 11-minute rampage, finding the net three times on the bounce.

A masterclass that had shown his meteoric rise from an enigmatic playmaker to one of the deadliest finishers in England’s top-flight.

The former Liverpool player proved beyond doubt how he’s improved under the stead of Pep Guardiola. He has been a major driving force for Manchester City and his second hattrick of the season just confirmed his status as one of the best players in the world currently.

It was an impressive game for the Citizens, one for which Pep Guardiola would be proud. That said, the Spanish gaffer would be left frustrated with the red card shoved in the face of youngster, Phil Foden late on.

With the win, City now hold tight to the pole position in Group C, five point clear of second-place Dinamo Zagreb.

The Premier defending champions have now won three consecutive UCL games.

On the other hand, Atalanta are still searching for their first point in their UCL debut campaign.

This hattrick marks Sterling’s second of the season and cements his place as one of Guardiola’s favourite City players, perhaps, now above Bernardo Silva who was Guardiola’s anointed last term.
