Super Eagles Of Nigeria Play Goalless Draw With Zimbabwe

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a 0-0 draw ĺĺpĺ visiting Zimbabwe at an International friendly match played in Asaba, Delta State, held in preparation for the 2019 Nations Cup.

Captain of the Super Eagles and former Chelsea player, Mikel Obi played for most parts of the game before John Ogu was brought in for him.

The Super Eagles started the game of the front foot with Alex Iwobi and Mikle Obi stringing passes at the heart of the midfield but the heavy hampered the flow of the ball on the pitch.

Villareal attacker, Samuel Chukeueze had the finest chance of the encounter after receiving a pass from Ola Aina but the shot just went off wide.

Etebo also provided a sublime pass to Jamilu Collins but Zimbabwe goalie came off the line to keep the scoreline the same.

The first forty five minutes ended with both sides finding it difficult to find the back of the net.

The second forty five was even better for the Super Eagles of Nigeria with Henry Onyekuru and Ahmed Musa introduced to change the complexion of the game but they couldn’t quite make the mark.

The game ended in a goalless draw and the Super Eagles are now poised to lock horns with Senegal before the start of the 2019 Nationsl Cup.
