Super Falcons Quash Niger Republic By 15-0 Scoreline To Book Semi-Final P

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked a place in the semi-finals of the WAFU Women’s Cup courtesy of a 15-0 humiliation of their African counterparts, Niger Republic in their second Group B game held at the Parc Des Sports Stadium in Treichville

Cecilia Nku opened the flood gates for goal as early as the ninth minute while Uchenna Kanu made it two barely two minutes later.

The Senior Nigerian Women team and African Champions later added seven more during the first forty-five minutes with nine of their goals coming before the break.

The Super Falcons further adding salt to injury poured six more after the break to complete the humiliation and utter disgrace of their opponents.

The Nigerian ladies mauled Burkina Faso by a 5-1 scoreline in the opening encounter of the competition.

The Niger Republic team lost their opening group game against Mali by a 10-0 scoreline meaning that they have shipped in 25 goals in just two matches.

The massive Saturday win has earned the Nigerian team an early ticket into the semifinals of the competition.

They will face their biggest threat and challenge in Mali when they take on the fierce African side on Monday in what is to be the final group game.

Victory against the Malian side would see the Super Falcons consolidate on top spot in Group B.

A top place finish in the group will see them lock horns with the second placed team in Group B in the last four.

According to the Falcons programme, they will be flying out of Nigeria to Austria on 21st May, where they are poised to spend two weeks at the world –renowned Avita Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf perfecting strategies for the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals. The Super Falcons team will arrive in France on 4th June.

At the World Cup finals, holding 7th June – 7th July, the African champions will take on Norway in Reims on 8th June, file out against Korea Republic in Grenoble on 12th June and take it to host nation France in Rennes on 17th June.
