Supreme Court: Uzodinma Gives Glory to God for Restoration of His Mandate
Imo state governor-elect, Hope Uzodinma has expressed appreciation to Imo state electorate over his declaration as the duly elected governor of the state by the Supreme Court.

The election of Emeka Ihedioha was therefore declared null and void. At the same time, the apex court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return from former governor Emeka Ihedioha and issue Uzodinma a certificate of return as governor of the state.
The court also ordered that he should be sworn-in immediately.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who read the lead judgement, said the votes due to Uzodinma and All Progressives Congress (APC) from 318 polling units were wrongly excluded and should be added, making it to surpass the figure that returned Ihedioha as governor.

In a statement released by Declan Emelumba, his special adviser on media, Uzodinma said;
“Yes today, my mandate given to me by the people of Imo state has been restored by the highest court in the land.”
“This meant that the victory given to me by the people, but denied me, has been restored. I give glory and thanks to God Almighty.”
