Nigerian music star, Tekno, now owns a record label named Cartel. The singer couldn’t hide his joy as he took to Instagram to express his joy over the milestone with the caption ‘CEO’.
Just last year, the ‘Pana’ crooner called on fans to pray for him after suffering a vocal box damage. He further added that he was staying a long time away from the entertainment world as a result. According to him, he had downplayed the severity of the illness hoping it was only for a brief period only to be advised by the doctors on the need to take adequate time to rest.
Following his announcement, fellow celebrities – Kiss Daniel, Tiwa Savage and Falz took to Instagram to wish him a speedy recovery.
It’s only a few months past and Tekno is seeking a quick return to the music scene. Is this a good decision for him?
Worthy of mention is that in 2017 also, Tekno was called-in to an American hospital for an acid reflux problem.
Tekno was formerly a member of the TripleMG group which Paul Okoye bought into, back in 2017, owning 50% of the record label. Paul said that the year was going to be a success for the singer. It surely was! Tekno commented about the said transaction. In his words he said:
“My people, listen. I’m happy and excited about life. That’s all that matters despite this year being a crazy year.”, “so I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to Upfront and Personal. Thank you Paul O. for becoming a part of my label”, “for buying into the company……owning 50 shares of the company”. “This is really good. I’m excited because it really facilitated a lot of things”.
Tekno was nominated for the ‘Best International Act Africa’ at the BET award 2017 and won the ‘Best New Act’ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2016.
