- Melaye raises alarm over alleged plan of the SARS to implicate him by allegedly planting arms in his house.
- Says SARS would be exposed.
Controversial former lawmaker, Dino Melaye has alleged that men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad 9SARS) have left Lokoja, Kogi state capital to his house in Aiyetoto in order to go and plant arms there.
Melaye will be contesting for the Kogi West Senatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against his close rival, Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday. An appeal court had ordered a rerun of the poll after his victory in the February 23 poll was contested by Adeyemi. The poll has been scheduled for Saturday, November 16 alongside state’s governorship poll.
Melaye had at a day earlier alleged that the APC and Governor Yahaya Bello, the APC Governorship Aspirant are planning to arrest all PDP leaders ahead of Saturday’s poll.
Melaye, who has not been on good term with Governor Bello took to his Twitter page to allege that they are planning to implicate him.
“SAS Police leaving Lokoja now to go and plant arms in my house in Aiyetoro in other to implicate me. They are many of them. We have planted cameras everywhere. You will be exposed,” he tweeted.
