PDP Governors, Others Meet Buhari

Some governors elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party and even the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday met with ailing Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari at his official residence in London. The governors included Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Umar Ganduje (Kano), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Kashim Shetimma (Borno), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and led by the chairman of the Nigeria’s Governor Forum Abdulaziz Yari.


Man with 4 Wives Dies during Sex Romp with Mistress

A man identified simply as Atere has died in Ilorin, Kwara State under uncertain circumstances. However, it is believed the man who is married to 4 wives died during a sex romp with one of his mistresses at a hotel in an area of Ilorin. The incident which happened on Wednesday was witnessed by staffs of the hotel.


Osun Not Owing Workers’ Salaries

The governor elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has disclosed that his administration does not owe any worker in the state salary arrears. In fact, he mentioned that workers in the state had been duly paid up till June and dismissed such speculations as efforts by his adversaries to ridicule his administration.


Death Toll in Lagos Building Collapse Rises to 8

The death toll from the collapsed building at Lagos Island has risen to about 8. This is just as 15 people were said to have been rescued by the combined efforts of men of the Lagos State Emergency Response Unit and well-wishers. This is the second case of building collapse in Lagos in 2 weeks and this has raised concerns about the integrity of structures erected in the coastal city.


Customs Dismantle Illegal Checkpoints

The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs, Col. Hameed Ali has ordered the complete dismantling of illegal checkpoints all across the federation. This was just as he disclosed that checkpoints should only be within 40km of land borders. More so, that information patrols should not last more than 24 hours.
