Torino vs Juventus – Serie A December 2018 Preview and Scores

Match Preview

Its Derby day in Serie A as Torino who sit in sixth position welcome log leaders Juventus in Saturday’s Derby della Mole (Italia)

Juventus move across town to face Torino after a 15-game unbeaten streak, and Massimiliano Allegri’s side head into the weekend with an eight-point lead at the top of the Serie A standings.

Torino

Torino have managed just five wins in the league this season, but losing just three times has allowed Torino to take advantage of the inconsistencies of the teams around them in the standings. By playing out 7 draws, they have been able to stay afloat, at least in the first half of the table.

They were defeated by Parma in the second week of November, signaling a possible end to their fine start to the season but Walter Mazzarri’s side have responded with five points from their last three outings.

Mazzari’s boys still have a tough run of fixtures with Lazio, Fiorentina and Roma all to come in their next six games. This means any positive result against their neighbours would set the team up perfectly for that time.

Roberto Soriano and Cristian Ansaldi are expected to be fit with Ola Aina expected to miss out. Daniele Baselli is expected to miss the game because he is still carrying a knock.

Torino possible starting eleven:

Sirigu; Izzo, Nkoulou, Djidji; Silvestri, Meite, Rincon, Ansaldi; Baselli, Falque; Belotti

Juventus

Juventus are on course ti win the Serie A title this season, after going 8 points clear on the league table. In the midst of this however they were defeated by Young Boys in the Champions league midweek and Coach Massimiliano Allegri will want to avoid a slip up by the team.

Juventus have gone 414 minutes without conceding a goal in Serie A, and the next aim will be to move that past 500 minutes with a good win against a team who are located just six miles away.

Tasliman Cristiano Ronaldo and Mario Mandzukic have contributed many goals to the team, but even at that, Allegri’s side have not netted more than three times in any of their 15 games in the top flight.

Rodrigo Bentacur is suspended for the match and so Emre Can is expected to be given a starting chance. Paolo Dybala and Giorgio Chiellini are both expected to start ahead of Douglas Costa and Daniele Rugani.

Juventus possible starting eleven:

Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Can, Pjanic, Matuidi; Dybala, Ronaldo, Mandzukic
