Tottenham vs Chelsea – Spurs defeat Chelsea at Wembley

Tottenham put Chelsea to the sword, thrashing them 3-1 at Wembley stadium on Saturday night. Chelsea were looking to continue their undefeated run but that has now been truncated by rampaging Spurs, a rival london club.

Chelsea fans were forced to watch their team beaten at Wembley for the first time in a while as Tottenham put up a dominant display to leapfrog Chelsea into 3rd place on the league table.

Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Song Heung Min scored a goal each as Olivier Giroud pulled one back for Chelsea to decide the game.

Tottenham took the lead after just eight minutes through Alli, who headed home from Christian Eriksen’s free kick — his fifth goal in six games against Chelsea.

Spurs should have added a second two minutes later after Eriksen picked out Son, but his close range strike went over.

It was the turn of Harry Kane at 16 minutes after he scored a goal to help his team mates settle into the game. David Luiz was the culprit as his “school boy” defending helped Kane get the goal after he moved away to expose the goal.

Chelsea tried to control possession in an attempt to get back into the game, but the chances kept coming Tottenham’s way, with Foyth heading just wide from a corner.

The second half started with Chelsea pressing more, but after 54 minutes, Son led Spurs on the counterattack, beating several men in a 40-yard run and slotting past Kepa .

Olivier Giroud came in and scored a header to pull one back, but Chelsea’s defeat had already been sealed as Spurs climb to third position.

Spurs play in the Champions league midweek as Chelsea are due to play in the Europa league on thursday.
