Tottenham Vs Newcastle EPL 2 February Preview

Newcastle will be willing to make it two big scalps when they go away to third-placed Tottenham at the St. James Park. The Magpies who last played Manchester City stunned the champions and are now poised to play the Lilywhites.

Tottenham without the attacking flair and threats of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min has left the side crash out of two competitions in the space of one week. However, the return of the latter boosted the Lilywhites and inspired them to a 2-1 win over Watford with the South Korean netting the first goal for the North London club.

With the Spurs in third place and only two points behind second-placed Manchester City, they are beyond motivated to grind a win at Wembley popularly dubbed Hallowed turf.

Newcastle who lost 2-0 to Watford were brilliant against Manchester City recording a win against Pep Guardiola’s side despite conceding a goal within just 24 seconds of the match.

A win against the Champions and a record transfer deadline signing in Miguel Almiron will give the Magpies all the confidence and boost they need to face Tottenham at this time of the season.

That said, the Magpies won’t be asking for too much as a draw in this fixture would equally be good considering that they haven’t won consecutive matches against the top six since December, 2015.
